
According to the CIA Factbook, the U.S. is the 12th most obese country in the world. It is hardly surprising, though, given that 34.9% of the population is obese, as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Of course, trimming your waistline takes a lot of effort and discipline, but dropping those pounds is crucial to preventing serious health problems such as heart disease and diabetes. Luckily, you don’t have to battle the weight on your own.
If you don’t know where to start, why not join a group such as the Interurban Runners’ Club? It’s a group of people who often run together, and they welcome everyone–including novice runners.
